Changes in legislation governing lawful electronic surveillance has fueled an increase in the frequency and scope of legal demands placed upon carriers by law enforcement agencies (LEAs) — putting carriers at a higher risk for non-compliance and increased legal liability exposure.

FCC One Day Porting Mandate 

The countdown is over. FCC mandate 09-41 for one-day simple-port porting is in effect, requiring that all simple ports be completed within one day. New standards and processes for simple number porting pose challenges and opportunities for small providers.

E-911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), records maintenance

Neustar Enhanced 911 (E911) module features a database connection utility that interfaces with directory data sources across organizations to send automated line identification information directly to the local public safety answering point (PSAP). The PSAP then instantly routes the call to the appropriate local emergency response facilities.

Customer choice in Long Distance services (CARE) 

Neustar Customer Account Record Exchange (CARE) clearinghouse capabilities support all requirements set by the Ordering and Billing Forum (OBF) of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS). Neustar's CARE platform enables automated, timely exchange of records between local exchange carriers (LECs) as well as interexchange carriers (IXCs).
